Suppressor lymphokine

see: SL (a term with multiple meanings). This biochemically uncharacterized factor of 66 kDa is found in the conditioned medium of the human T leukemia cell line 81-66-45. The factor inhibits proliferation of normal peripheral blood T-cells stimulated by phytohemagglutinin. SL is cytostatic and its addition to the peripheral blood lymphocytes does not change the cell number or cell viability.
