[Extracellular complement-binding protein] Ecb has been identified by Jangerius et al (2007). Ecb plays a role in immune response evasion has strong anti-inflammatory properties and blocks C5 convertase activity and prevents C5a generation and C5a-mediated neutrophil activation in vitro.
