Sepia ink hydrolysate peptide

abbr. SHP (a term with multiple meanings). This peptide with the sequence Leu-Lys-Glu-Glu-Asn-Arg-Arg‑Arg-Arg-Asp (LKEENRRRRD) has been identified in pepsin hydrolysate of sepia ink. It shows activity as an anticancer peptide and significantly inhibits the proliferation of PC‑3 prostate cancer cells in a time‑ and dose‑dependent manner by inducing cell death by ‑induced apoptosis. SHP‑induced apoptosis is accompanied by the activation of cellular tumor antigen p53 and caspase‑3, the upregulation of apoptosis regulator BAX, and the downregulation of apoptosis regulator BCL2 ... ... ... ... ...
