[SNARE domains]
[soluble NSF attachment protein (SNAP) receptors] Soluble NSF attachment protein receptors (SNAP receptors) are a highly conserved C-terminally anchored integral membrane proteins. The proteins are involved in the fusion of vesicles with their target membranes (Sutton et al, 1998). All SNARE proteins share a conserved SNARE domain of approximately 60 amino acids. This domain functions as a protein-protein interaction motif which is required for the assembly of SNARE protein complexes.
