[Sav/Rassf/Hpo domain] This sequence motif of approximately 50 amino acids and functions as a protein interaction motif. The SARAH domain was identified originally to join several proteins, that cooperate to modulate cell cycle arrest to restrict cell proliferation and are involved in tumor suppression and cell death by apoptosis (SAV1 (see: salvador], RASSF1 [Ras association domain-containing protein 1] and some other members of the RASSF family, and Hippo) (Scheel and Hofmann, 2003; Hwang et al, 2007).
