Rhesus blood group-associated ammonia channel

This protein functions as an ammonium transport protein and can complement the growth defect of a yeast mutant deficient in ammonium uptake (Marini et al, 2000). The protein has been shown to promote ammonium export (Westerhoff et al, 2002, 2004). In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD241.
