[Parapoxvirus of red deer in New Zealand chemokine binding protein ORF112.0; ORF112.0 chemokine binding protein] This virus-encoded chemokine binding protein has been identified by Sharif et al (2019) in Parapoxvirus of red deer in New Zealand (PVNZ), a species of the Parapoxvirus genus that causes pustular dermatitis. The protein binds CXCL4, CXCL10, CCL21, XCL1 and is thought to play a role in suppressing inflammation and the anti-viral immune response. Chemotaxis assays using neutrophils and monocytes shows that the chemokine binding proteinb has inhibitory effects on cell migration.
