[acronym for peptide with amino-terminal glycine and carboxyl- terminal glutamine] PGQ (GVLSNVIGYLKKLGTGALNAVLKQ) is an antimicrobial peptide isolated from Xenopus laevis stomach extracts (Moore et al, 1991). Kuzina et al (2006) have reported that PGQ is active against the plant pathogenic bacterium Xylella fastidiosa.
