An anionic protein of 87 kDa from the marine bacterium X153 (Pseudoalteromonas sp. close to Pseudoalteromonas piscicida) (Longeon et al, 2004). The protein is highly active against human pathogenic strains involved in dermatologic diseases, and marine bacteria including various ichthyopathogenic Vibrio strains. In vivo, it protects bivalve larvae against mortality, following experimental challenges with ichthyopathogenic Vibrio.
