octTKI [octopus tachykinin-1] (KPPSSSEFIGLMamide) and octTKII [octopus tachykinin-2] (KPPSSSEFVGLMamide) have been reported by Kanda et al (2003) in Octopus vulgaris. Oct-TK-III [octopus tachykinin-3] (DPPSDDEFVSLMamide) from Octopus kaurna has been described by Fry et al (2009). These tachykinin-related peptides forms from an invertebrate venom have the C-terminal amide motif of the vertebrate form.
Oct-TK-I and Oct-TK-II from octopus venom have been shown to be active also in vertebrates
