The term Giant Phagocytes has been given to a cell type developing in long-term cultures of purified CD15(+) CD66b(+) CD63(+) neutrophils in standard culture conditions without the addition of cytokines / growth factors such as GM-CSF / IL4 (Dyugovskaya L et al, 2014).
