[Ancyclostoma caninium Neutrophil inhibitory factor] abbr. NIF (a term with multiple meanings). Neutrophil inhibitory factor is a 41 kDa protein (257 amino acids) from the canine hookworm Ancyclostoma caninium (Moyle et al, 1994). The protein has no significant sequence homologies to previously reported proteins but shows sequence homology with hookworm platelet inhibitor isolated from the same organism.
