Neuronal acetylcholine receptor subunit alpha-7

abbr. sometimes NACHRA7; also being referred to as alpha 7 acetylcholine receptor, nicotinic cholinergic receptor alpha-7, acetylcholine receptor subunit alpha-7, alpha-7 neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, Nicotinic receptor alpha-7, and also Neuronal nicotinic alpha-7 receptors. The approved gene symbol is CHRNA7 (an acronym from cholinergic receptor, nicotinic, alpha 7).

The gene encoding the alpha-7 subunit of the neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor has been characterized by Chini et al (1994), Elliott et al (1996), Groot Kormelink and Luyten (1997), and Gault et al (1998).
