This term has been used to describe scattered large cells with a small irregularly shaped nucleus and a mass of spherules or globules apparently held together by a kind of cement substance or by a thin cell wall in sections of a brain abscess (Weber and Blendinger, 1906). The origin of these cells is not known. The relationship to Warthin-Finkeldey-like cells in Hashimoto thyroiditis-associated lymphoma, also referred to as Mulberry cells, is not clear (Lapadat et al, 2017).
