abbr. MRP-1. This protein has been identified by Miyake et al (1991). It is recognized by monoclonal antibody M31-I5, which inhibits the motility of MAC 10 cells, derived from a human adenocarcinoma of the lung. MRP-1 is a transmembrane glycoprotein, and the sequence of its cDNA matches that of CD antigen CD9.
In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD9.
