(an acronym of modifier of rpr and grim, ubiquitously expressed) Morgue is a Drosophila melanogaster protein encoded by gene CG15437. The protein is involved in cell death by apoptosis. It enhances the actions of two other apoptotic proteins, Grim and reaper, and negatively regulates the levels of the anti-apoptotic DIAP1 protein, which is one of the proteins homologous with insect and mammalian IAP (inhibitor of apoptosis).
