[Memory NK-cell]
The term memory NK-cells refers to a subset of NK-cells characterized by an extended life span, the capacity for self-renewal, and the capacity to mount robust and protective secondary responses against specific antigens (Sun et al, 2010). These features are classical characteristics of immune memory and have been observed in NK-cells activated specifically by a chemical hapten or virus (O'Leary et al, 2006; Sun et al, 2009), or nonspecifically by inflammatory cytokines (Cooper et al, 2009).
