MIP-1-alpha RL

MIP-1-alpha RL1 (MIP-1-alpha receptor-like-1) and MIP-1-alpha RL2 (MIP-1-alpha receptor-like-2) are two cloned mouse orphan receptors. Their deduced sequences are 62, and 63 % identical with the human MIP-1-alpha/RANTES receptor, respectively.

RNA for the two genes is detected in mouse leukocytes. MIP-1-alpha RL1 is expressed in skeletal muscle. MIP-1-alpha RL2 is expressed in spleen and liver.

Gao et al (1996) have identified MIP-1-alpha RL2 as a functional receptor for eotaxin and have renamed the receptor CCR3.
