[Müller cell]
Müller cells [retinal glial cells] are called also Müller glia or Müller glial cells; also: RMG cells [Retinal Müller glia]. The terms radial gliocytes, retinal gliocytes, and Müller gliocytes have been used occasionally to refer to Müller cells.
These cells are specialized extensively arborized radial glial cells that span the entire depth of the retina. Müller glial cells span the entire thickness of the tissue, and ensheath all retinal neurons, in vertebrate retinae of all species. These
