Lymphopoietin-1

abbr. Lpo-1 or LP-1. This murine lymphopoietic growth factor, originally called B-cell precursor growth-promoting activity, has been described by Namen et al (1988). This factor is capable of stimulating the proliferation and extended maintenance of precursor cells of the B-cell lineage. The purified factor acts on immature lymphocytes, it binds to specific receptors on cells, and is distinct from previously described hematopoietic growth factors. This factor is identical with IL7 [interleukin-7].
