Lymphocyte chemotactic factors

see: LCF (a term with multiple meanings). These biochemically uncharacterized factors of 14-17 and 40-50 kDa are synthesized by antigen- or mitogen-stimulated suppressor T-cells and cytotoxic T-cells. The factors are chemotactic for CD4(+) T-helper cells (see also: Chemotaxis). They are not identical with either IL1 and IL2. The synthesis of these factors is inhibited by Beta-Endorphin and Met-Enkephalin. Some of the LCF activity is probably due to IL8.
