[Lsa blood group antigens]
The low incidence Lsa blood group antigen (also known as Lewis II or Ge6 [Gerbich 6]; see also Gerbich blood group antigen) resides on the higher-molecular-weight forms of glycophorin C and glycophorin D and has been shown by Reid et al (1994) to be due to a duplication of exon 3 boundary in the glycophorin C gene.
In the nomenclature of CD antigens the protein has been given the designation CD236. See also: blood group antigens.
