abbr. Lmnt1. Laminet-1 has been identified as a cell surface glycoprotein resembling both laminins and netrins (hence the designation Laminet) (Yin et al, 2002). Sequence analysis shows that laminet-1 is identical with netrin-G1.
Laminet-1 is expressed selectively in neurons. The distribution pattern of Laminet-1 differs from that of the related Laminet-2. Both proteins are expressed in distinct non-overlapping cell populations. Laminet-1 has been shown to be subject to alternative splicing and exists in at least 10 distinct isoforms, each of which contains a unique combination of potential binding sites for ligands or counterreceptors.
