[Leu-Leu-Ala-Pro] This peptide has been identified in hydrolysates of macroalga Palmaria palmata (Harnedy et al, 2015). The peptide has been shown to inhibit the activity of DPP4 [dipeptidyl peptidase 4] (CD26) and might have potential as a functional food ingredient in the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes.
