abbr. K cells (a term with multiple meanings). K cells are cytotoxic cells. They are large lymphocytes that do not express surface markers found commonly on either T-cells or B-cells. K cells can be activated specifically by antigen through IgG, using Fc receptors. The term has been used for NK-cells when they participate in immune reactions as mediators of antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity.
