Interferon-inducible protein 210 |
Interferon-inducible protein p204 |
chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 3 |
||
The cDNA and the gene encoding this protein of 125 amino acids has been identified by Reid et al (1989) and Lewin et al (1991). Its expression is inducible by IFN-alpha, IFN-beta, and IFN-gamma (Lewin et al, 1991). Expression of the encoded protein is highly inducible by IFN-alpha and IFN-gamma. The protein has been shown to be identical with IFI17 [interferon-induced protein 17]. Sequence analysis shows that the 9-27 protein is identical except for 1 residue to protein IFI17.
In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD225.
