This peptide [AVWKDFLKNIGKAAGKAVLNSVTDMVNE], called also FSIP [frog skin insulinotropic peptide] has been identified by Marenah et al (2004) in the skin of the frog Agalychnis litodryas (Agalychnis spurrelli; Gliding leaf frog). The peptide belongs to the family of dermaseptins and has been shown to release insulin from pancreatic beta-cells.
