[immune semaphorin]
a collective term for some members of the family of semaphorins that function in the immune system (for review see also: Kumanogoh and Kikutani, 1993; Kikutani and Kumanogoh, 2003; Mizui et al, 2008; Nkyimbeng-Takwi and Chapoval, 2011).
Immune semaphorins are CD100 (SEMA4D), which is expressed constitutively by T-cells and acts through at least two cell surface receptors CD72 and Plexin-B1, SEMA4A, which is expressed preferentially on B-cells, which acts through Tim-2, Plexin-D1 and Plexin-B1, and most likely some other semaphorins such as SEMA3A, SEMA3E, SEMA6D
