Hcc-1
[hepatocellular carcinoma 1] This protein, which is a component of the nuclear matrix, has been identified by Leaw et al (2004). The expression is reduced in a liver tumor when compared to adjacent normal liver tissue. Highest expression is observed in testis and intermediate expression is seen in spleen, thymus, heart, kidney, and pancreas. Expression is weak in prostate and liver.
The protein is identical with CIP29 [Cytokine-Inducible Protein-29].
