HPAEC survival factor

[human pulmonary artery endothelial cell-derived survival factor] This factor has been found in the conditioned medium of human pulmonary artery endothelial cells (Farahi et al, 2007). The factor inhibits cell death by apoptosis of eosinophils but not of neutrophils. The endothelial cells have been shown to express mRNA for CCL5, CCL11, CCL24, CCL26, and CCL27 but the activity responsible for the anti-apoptotic effect has been shown to be identical to IL11 secreted by endothelial cells.
