GRID
[GRB2-related protein with insert domain] This protein has been identified by Ellis et al (2000) by virtue of its ability to interact with CD28 through an SH2 domain. The protein contains an SH2 and an SH3 domain, which are separated by an insert of 120 amino cids rich in gluamine.
GRID associates with phosphorylated CD28 early after CD28 activation but does not associate with CTLA-4, which is structurally related to CD28, or to CD32. GRID also associates with a variety of other proteins and is expressed principally in T-cells. Sequence analysis shows that GRID is identical with Mona.
