GAB1

[GRB2-associated binder 1; GRB2-associated binding protein 1] The cDNA for this protein of 694 amino acids has been identified by Holgado-Madruga et al (1996) in a cDNA library derived from a glial tumor. The gene is expressed in many tissues but not in liver, lung, and kidney. The protein is a member of a protein family of adaptor and docking proteins involved in multiple signaling pathways initiated by ligands binding to receptors with protein tyrosine kinase activities and other receptors (Liu and Rohrschneider, 2002; Hibi and Hirano, 2000).

GAB1 is a protein that contains a Pleckstrin homology domain. It functions as a multisubstrate adaptor or docking protein that mediates intracellular signals of receptors for a variety of ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
