Fibrinogen-beta(15-42) |
fibrinogen E fragment |
CD133 |
||
This bioactive fragment with the sequence ARPAKAAATQKKVERKAPDA is derived from the N-terminus of the beta-chain of fibrinogen (gene: FGB; fibrinogen-beta) (see also: fibrinogen fragment E).
The fragment has minimal effects on endothelial cells viability, proliferation, and migration, but markedly inhibits the ability of activated endothelial cells to form tubules and strongly inhibits the adherence of activated endothelial cells to collagen type 4, fibronectin, and vitronectin. The fragment binds to integrin-alpha-V / integrin-beta-3, and soluble integrin-alpha-V / integrin-beta-3
