Feleucin-BV1 (FLGLLGGLLamide) and Feleucin-BV2 (FLGLIGSLLamide) are antimicrobial peptides identified by Bai et al (2014) in skin secretion of Bombina variegata. Both peptides are located at the C-terminus of the corresponding cDNA, each of which also encodes a novel member of the Bombinin family (GIGGALLNVGKVALKGLAKGLAEHFANamide). Synthetic feleucins show a weak activity against Staphylococcus aureus, but feleucin-BV1 synergizes with the novel bombinin.
