[Fibroblast proliferation activity] Two biochemically uncharacterized factors of 50-110 kDa (P-II), and 4.6-11 kDa (P-IV) produced by human mononuclear leukocytes (see also: Fibroblast proliferation factor). The two factors support proliferation of HFL-1 cells, a cell line established from human lung fibroblasts. They do not support the proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells.
The proliferation-promoting activity is not neutralized by antibodies against FGF, IL4, IL6, IFN-gamma, TGF-beta and TNF-alpha. See also:
