[Dengue virus non-structural protein 4A]; abbr. DENV NS4A protein. This non-structural protein is encoded in the genome of Dengue virus. The protein has been reported to play a role in immune evasion. It subverts host innate immunity by associating with MAVS. This prevents binding of MAVS to RIG-I and subsequent activation of the interferon regulatory factor IRF3 and induction of type 1 interferon production (He Z et al, 2016).
