Note: These cells are named after the German pathologist Otto Friedrich Karl Deiters [1834-1863] (see the very interesting biography by Deiters and Guiller, 2013).
Articles and abstracts in English often use terms such as Deiter neurons or Deiter's neurons as the ending 's' is mistaken as the genitive form.
