This peptide (SLHTLF) has been identified as a fragment of human serum albumin, from which it is obtained by digestion with trypsin or chymotrypsin (Nakagomi et al, 2002). This fragment corresponds to albumin(65-70) and has been shown to inhibit cathepsin B. See also cryptides for bioactive fragments of parent proteins.
For other proteins (or fragments thereof) with at least one additional activity that differs from the established 'classical' activity of the parent protein see also: Dual identity proteins and Cryptides MiniCOPE Dictionary.
