[Cardiotrophin-1] the approved gene symbol is CTF1. Cardiotrophin-1 is a 21.5 kDa protein identified originally by its ability to potently induce hypertrophy of cardiac myocytes in vitro. A 1.4 kb cardiotrophin-1 mRNA is expressed in the heart and several other mouse tissues.
