This peptide, AECPWLKSQVCGPP, has been identified by phage display methods. It acts as a cell-targeting peptide and binds to benign and malignant epithelium in prostate and breast tissues. Variable staining is observed for endothelia, hematolymphoid cells, and stromal fibroblasts. The peptide does not stain acellular stromal connective tissue (Jaye et al, 2003).
