CD45(+) liver side population tip cells

[CD45(+) liver SP tip cells] constitute a rare subset of murine adult liver-derived stem cells that possesses potent blood-repopulating potential (see also: marrow repopulating ability), approaching that of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells. The cells exhibit a surface phenotype similar to that of freshly isolated bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells derived from normal adult animals.
