abbr. BCT. Called also B-cell tropin or B-cell trophin in some publications) This factor was identified originally in the pituitary pars intermedia and subsequently in plasma of genetically obese (ob/ob) mice (Billingham et al, 1982) and genetically obese Zucker rats (fa/fa) (Morton et al, 1991).
