Beta-R1

This gene is expressed selectively in response to IFN-beta in human astrocytoma and fibrosarcoma cells. Expression is observed also in response to IFN-beta but only weakly in response to IFN-alpha. Mutant fibrosarcoma cell lines that do not express some signaling components of the IFN signaling pathway (including p48, STAT1, JAK1, and STAT2) do not express beta-R1 in response to IFN-beta. Studies with mutant cell lines also indicate that TYK2 is essential for induction of beta-R1 expression.

Sequence comparisons show that beta-R1 is a member of the CXC-Chemokines and is identical with ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
