[BL-CFCs]
[blast colony-forming cells] This term (see also: CFC) has been used by Choi et al (1998) to describe bipotential hemangioblasts that still have the capacity to differentiate into vascular endothelial cells and hematopoietic cells. These cells have been obtained from embryoid bodies derived from embryonic stem cells. The authors have pointed out that these precursors develop early during embryoid body development and persist for a short period of time, preceding the onset of hematopoiesis and vasculogenesis.
