also: B10 B-cells. This subset of cells has been identified by Yanaba et al (2008) as a unique subset of B-cells with potent regulatory functions (see also: regulatory B-cells). These cells have the phenotype CD1d(high) CD5(+). Sun J et al (2015) have reported that CD9 is a marker of murine B10 cells.
This B-cell subset is absent in CD19 knock-out mice, represents only 1-2 % of spleen B220(+) cells in wild-type mice, but is expanded to approximately 10 % of spleen B220(+)
