abbr. ARPs, also APCs (a term with multiple meanings). See also: glial cells. This cell type has been identified by Liu et al (2004) who studied glial precursors from neural tissue derived from early embryonic ages to elucidate the precise lineage between neural stem cells and mature astrocytes. astrocyte restricted precursor cells are characterized by expression of CD44 and S100-beta and the absence of some linage markers.
