abbr. AGF (a term with multiple meanings). Oike et al (2003) have identified AGF (470 amino acids in humans; 457 in mice). An older designation for this protein is ARP-5 [angiopoietin-related protein-5]. The approved gene symbol is ANGPTL6 [angiopoietin-like-6].
The protein is expressed in platelets and mast cells present at sites of wound healing. The protein affects proliferation of epidermal cells and is involved in wound healing. Transgenic mice expressing AGF in epidermal keratinocytes
