abbr. AmotL-1. This protein has been identified by its sequence relationship to Angiomotin (Bratt et al, 2002). The protein has been identified independently as JEAP, a component of tight junctions in exocrine cells.
Ernkvist et al (2009) have shown that AmotL1 binds to the RhoA GTPase exchange factor (RhoGEF) protein Syx [synectin-binding guanine exchange factor], which is important for the directional migration of capillaries in the embryo.
Gagné et al (2009) have reported that angiomotin-like 1 forms part of a protein complex containing angiomotin. Angiomotin-like 1 co-localizes with filamentous actin and significantly modifies the architecture of the actin cytoskeleton. Angiomotin-like 1 increases the velocity of endothelial cell
