abbr. AGM. This factor is secreted by tumor blood vessels (see also: angiogenesis) and is present on the surface of endothelial cells (Akaogi et al, 1996). In cell culture, it promotes cell adhesion and morphological changes to form cord-like structures of the human bladder carcinoma cell line ECV-304. Cord formation is prevented by heparin, which inhibits the binding of Angiomodulin to ECV-304 cells.
