Anchorin C2

This protein has been identified by Mollenhauer and von der Mark (1983) as a binding protein for collagen type 2 in chicken chondrocytes. Antibodies against anchorin C2 inhibit the attachment of chondrocytes to a collagen type 2 substrate (Mollenhauer et al, 1984).

cDNA, genomic structure, and anchorin C2 structures have been reported by Fernandez et al (1994), Pilar Fernandez et al (1988), and Pfannmüller et al (1993).

Kirsch and Pfäffle (1992) have shown that anchorin C2 binds to native collagen type 2, collagen type 10, and also to chondrocalcin, the carboxy-terminal extension of type 2 procollagen, in a calcium-independent manner.

Anchorin C2 is the chicken homologue of human ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
